Section 2.4 - Wiring Multiple LEDs
To Be Together or... Be Together
In this lesson, you’ll learn about series and parallel wiring and how to connect multiple LEDs in each configuration. Starting with slides, you’ll explore the concept of wiring multiple LEDs in a single circuit, discussing the two main ways to “chain” LEDs together: series and parallel wiring. You’ll see the unique characteristics of each setup—such as how voltage and current differ between series and parallel—and understand why LEDs wired in these configurations won’t be individually controllable. This insight is key for working with basic circuits that include multiple components. In TinkerCAD, you’ll then put this theory into practice by wiring two LEDs in parallel and two LEDs in series, observing the differences in brightness and behavior in each setup. This hands-on approach not only solidifies your understanding of series and parallel circuits but also gives you a deeper appreciation for how different configurations affect circuit performance.
